The University of Oklahoma’s online MBA program stands out for its “supportive community, the quality of the professors, and the sense of care for each student’s well-being.” As one student explains, a major benefit that drew them to OU is the “option to tailor my MBA toward my own specific interests.” Students can earn a general MBA or an MBA specializing in Supply Chain Management. In addition, the school offers two Executive MBAs, one in Aerospace and Defense and one in Energy, that are taught mainly online but require three one-week residencies.

Although some individual classes may be asynchronous, the school is ideal for students seeking real-time learning opportunities. The MBA, as well as the EMBAs, feature courses with set class times when the cohort meets together. Students appreciate “the professors' understanding that we're all working professionals,” and while the curriculum can be demanding, it’s “certainly rewarding.” Students say the work is “appropriately rigorous” and describe their peers as “critical thinkers” who are “collaborative and supportive in helping to discuss challenging topics.” Professors here are “easy to access” and “able to communicate well.” As one enthusiastic student sums up, the faculty are “top in their respective areas of expertise, accessible and engaging. It's truly the best group of people to learn from that I could ask for.”

Students say OU “provided great opportunities to network and meet employers.” MBA students can access OU’s Center for Graduate Student Success, which offers support and programming, including career coaching, résumé and cover letter help, interview preparation, speaker series, and alumni connections. Students enjoy both the “peer-to-peer learning from strong professionals within the cohort as well as the practical applications of the cutting-edge academic curriculum.” The school draws a “very intelligent group of professionals” who “come from a variety of different backgrounds and careers, so it is interesting to hear and learn about other opportunities that may be out there.” As one student in the Executive MBA for Energy notes, the program “challenged us and taught us useful lessons that we could apply in our careers immediately.” Another student adds how the same program “helped me find a new and rewarding career.” OU offers a good return on investment, with the school reporting that the average starting salary for 2023 MBA graduates is $108,854.
