Current students say they were drawn to University of Wisconsin—River Falls for its "quality education at an affordable [price tag]." From the moment you set foot on campus, students say it is evident that the school wants "to help students achieve success." UW-River Falls does so by offering a myriad of opportunities for "internships, student teaching, studying abroad, and real work experience," which make grads "exceptionally competitive" once they hit the job market. Students benefit from "small class sizes" that allow students to "feel more involved" in the classroom. Many undergraduates also highlight the "amazing" business and agriculture schools. Overall, they give high marks to their "very knowledgeable" professors, who work hard to ensure that classes are "enjoyable and intriguing." UW-River Falls instructors are "easy to work with and really take the time to ensure you are learning what you need to." One satisfied student sums up the access to faculty: "They are available often and answer questions in a timely manner which helps ease a lot of stress. I have had nothing but a great experience so far."
Student Body
UW-River Falls students describe their classmates as "encouraging and supportive." Some students point out that a number of their peers are "white, lower-middle-class students from small Midwest towns," and note that UWRF attracts "a large percentage of international students" as well. This certainly allows for a "multicultural" collegiate experience. The UW-River Falls student body tends to be "friendly." "When you walk across campus you are likely to know or recognize at least 10 people." A current undergrad sums up the hospitable atmosphere: "This is easily one of the most welcoming campuses I've ever been on. You can sit with or talk to absolutely anybody. It's never been easier to meet new people and make friends you never knew you'd have!"
Campus Life
Campus life at UW-River Falls is active with a student body that loves to take advantage of the school's "rock wall…track, exercise equipment and skating rink as well as a plethora of basketball hoops." We're also told that "sand volleyball and ping pong are really popular on campus," as well. One student describes the focus on athletics on campus: "There is almost always a sporting event to attend, and the intramural teams are incredibly well organized." Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted to learn that there are "great hiking and kayaking areas surrounding river falls, especially with the state parks nearby." Of course, if sports aren't your thing, "the campus also offers fun activities such as musical guests, and bingo nights" as well as "magicians, drag queens, and tattoo artists some weekends." At UW-River Falls "nearly anyone who wants something to do on campus can find a club that fits with at least one of their interests, or a major-related club."
