What are the admissions requirements?
St. Joseph's University, New York is a selective institution. Applicants are evaluated on an individual basis. The University enrolls students who are academically talented and diverse. Successful admissions candidates typically have:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent, or postsecondary transcripts.
- A personal statement or essay of recommendation.
- Standardized test scores that demonstrate the promise of success in college–level courses.
- Two letters of recommendation and a personal essay.

When should I apply? When is the application deadline?
St. Joseph's admits students on a rolling basis, but there are scholarship priority dates. For the fall semester, the scholarship priority date is March 15 for freshmen and August 1 for transfer students. For the spring semester, the priority date is January 1 for both freshmen and transfer students.
What do I need to submit as a transfer student?
Applications can be submitted by mail or online. Transfer students should request that official transcripts from all former colleges, and a listing of courses in progress, be sent to our Office of Admissions. You are not required to submit a high school transcript if you have an A.A. degree or have successfully completed 24 or more credits from an accredited college. You may transfer a maximum of 64 credits if you have an A.A. degree; certain A.A.S. degrees are also transferable.

With a 10:1 student/faculty ratio, students choose St. Joseph's for its small classes and inclusive community. The diverse campus welcomes students from 25 foreign countries and various U.S. states and provides many opportunities to develop new interests and cultivate existing ones at campus functions and social events, with more than 30 clubs and organizations to choose from, as well as the ability to create their own club.
A proud participant in the Post–9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, St. Joseph's is continually recognized as a Military Friendly School and has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report and Military Times for its commitment to America's veterans and active military. As part of the University's participation in the Post–9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, financial support for education and housing is offered to military veterans with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2011, or individuals discharged with a service–connected disability after 30 days. St. Joseph's also offers credit for military training and experience and countless opportunities to help make St. Joseph's a familiar atmosphere and ease the transition from service member to civilian.

St. Joseph's in Brooklyn offers easy access to transit lines and brings students from every part of the New York metropolitan area to the University each day. SJC believes that the college experience isn't limited to its own classrooms.
