Theory, Practice, Performance
These elements are the core of the Ithaca College experience—today and every day since our founding over 125 years ago.
Ithaca College began as a music conservatory in 1892, helping young musicians hone their talents into professional-caliber skills. In the decades since, IC has grown into a residential liberal arts college with five schools and over 100 degree programs. Our students gain knowledge and confidence through a continuous cycle of learning, trying, and doing—with access to professional labs, studios, equipment, and research opportunities.
As a mid-size, nationally-ranked college, IC offers students opportunities for personalized attention in every academic program and engagement in a wide variety of campus activities. Students join a welcoming community of 6,200 undergraduate and 470 graduate students that offers more than 200 student clubs and organizations.
The IC experience continues after graduation as alumni become part of a growing network of professionals—mentors and experts around the world who take active roles in helping students succeed.
At IC, our faculty and staff are dedicated to student education and growth. They bring a wealth of knowledge and talent to our campus and work to help advance their respective fields. Through research, projects, and involvement in their communities, they also continue to learn and develop as professionals and thought leaders.
Ithaca College sits on South Hill and overlooks the heart of Ithaca, a thriving city full of art, culture, and activity all surrounded by the natural beauty of New York's Finger Lakes region. In addition to the main campus, IC has satellite programs in New York City, Los Angeles, and London.

Steps to Apply
Step One: Apply via the Common Application
Please submit your application by the deadline for your preferred admission process. If Ithaca is your first choice, you may benefit by applying early decision or early action.
Step Two: Complete Your Application
After you have submitted your application, please submit your supporting documentation.
Step Three: Should I send my scores?
Most students may choose whether to submit their SAT or ACT scores for admission consideration. If you wish to have your scores considered, please arrange for official scores to be sent to Ithaca College from the testing agency. We do not consider SAT subject tests in a student's application.
Step Four: Apply for Financial Aid
The FAFSA is the only form required to apply for federal financial aid. Ithaca College requires submission of the CSS Profile to determine whether you are eligible for institutional funding in addition to federal financial aid. The priority deadline for both the FAFSA and CSS Profile is November 1 for early decision applicants and January 15 for early action and regular decision applicants.
Step Five: Apply for a Scholar Program
In one of Ithaca's four scholar programs, you can work with peers to serve the local and global community with your talent and intellect: Leadership Scholar Program, MLK Scholar Program, Park Scholar Program, and Ithaca College Honors Program

Location
Welcome to Ithaca, New York—ranked the #1 college town in the United States.
In the heart of New York State's beautiful Finger Lakes region, about midway between Manhattan and Toronto, this thriving, culturally diverse city of 30,000 combines small-town warmth and charm with the energy of an eclectic metropolis. In the Ithaca community, you'll never run out of new things to do, people to meet, and places to explore.
Home to Ithaca College and Cornell University, our city attracts visitors, students, and scholars from around the globe. Feed your curiosity and add to your understanding of the world at public lectures and educational events at the colleges and within the broader Ithaca community.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
Visitors to our Office of Admission and other offices in the Peggy Ryan Willams Center (PRWC) are treated to stunning views of Cayuga Lake. It is the second campus facility designed to achieve platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. PRWC houses our Office of Admission, as well as the Offices of the President, the Provost, the Registrar, Student Financial Services, and Human Resources. It is also home of the Division of Enrollment and other administrative offices. This state-of-the-art facility received LEED Platinum certification in late 2010, joining Yale University as one of only two academic institutions in the world to have two such buildings on campus. Over 50 percent of the energy in the building comes from renewable sources, with a geothermal system using the Earth's relatively consistent temperature to provide heating and cooling, among many other sustainable features.
The Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise features collaborative workspaces and conference rooms that mimic the professional environments in which students will soon work. The building also houses our state-of-the-art trading room. The Park Center reflects a major commitment to sustainability. From top to bottom, it is a real-world example of environmental stewardship that incorporates the highest principles of sustainable design. In fact, the Park Center was one of the first 100 buildings in the world to receive platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the highest level granted by the U.S. Green Building Council. But that's just the beginning. Ithaca is one of the few undergraduate institutions in the world where the ticker runs on Wall Street time, and the Center for Trading and Analysis of Financial Instruments is where the action is.
Since opening in the fall of 2011, the $65.5 million Athletics and Events Center has given Ithaca College's student-athletes a state-of-the-art facility in which to train and compete, while offering the entire campus a place to gather for significant college and community events. Honored with an Innovative Architecture & Design Award from Recreation Management magazine, the A&E Center in its first year hosted the Bomber Wrestling Invitational, Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships, and Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championships, among other athletic contests, providing a valuable "home field" advantage to Ithaca teams. It was designed to meet at least LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) silver standards, and the signature tower is more than just an architectural feature—it functions to provide natural cooling and ventilation to the large indoor space.
Off-Campus Opportunities
Stay active by diving into Cayuga Lake water sports, hiking up rolling hills and down into glacier-carved gorges, and exploring woodlands. In the winter season, cozy up in a local ski lodge after hitting the hills or trails. Try local flavors at hundreds of restaurants, follow wine and beer trails along the shores of the Finger Lakes (or locally made sodas and ciders if you're under 21), and find fresh ingredients to refine your own culinary talents at our famed farmers market. Grow your artistic soul at galleries, museums, theatres, independent cinema, and underground music scenes.
Join members of the community in service by participating in local volunteer events and groups. Enjoy downtown festivals in every season—Apple Harvest Festival, Cayuga Sound Music Festival, Winter Festival, and so many more. Support local businesses and find one-of-a-kind items as you stroll and shop along the downtown Ithaca Commons throughout the year.
Whatever your interests, Ithaca has something for you.
