Academics

Denmark Technical College is a public two-year technical college in rural South Carolina that offers associate degrees, diplomas, or certificates to a mix of around 500 traditional, nontraditional, full-time, and part-time students. The school is committed to providing a technical education to students of all backgrounds, and conducts outreach to area high schools to promote opportunities for training that might not otherwise have been apparent. In seeking to educate students in areas of business and industry that currently demand a workforce, specialized training courses are coordinated with South Carolina industries through the ReadySC program. There are programs available in engineering technology, welding, building construction, allied health, early care and education, computers, and related technologies (among others), with Business Administration and Early Care and Education being among the most popular majors. Classes are offered in both traditional lecture format as well as distance learning formats; the continuing education program is designed to meet specific occupational needs of adult learners. The Student Success Center ensures that students have access to all of the resources they need to complete their program, including individual/group tutoring, mentoring, online tutoring, and workshops.
