They showed me how to identify what formula to use regarding exponential growth word problems, how properly solve for missing variables, and how to execute the correct formula to find annual growth rate percentage. They explained that square roots need to have the same exponent at the top of the radical to cancel out the other exponent term (i.e. ^20sqrtX will cancel out an X^20); also briefly reviewing what cubes and no-specified-exponent radical implies. They also taught me that another way to do this is to multiply using the exponent of 1/# (i.e. ^10sqrtx = x^1/10); this method will make a lot of future problems much easier to simplify and solve They taught me that if there is no specification or periods in a year, the formula will not include n. They also taught me that even though t (the time) changes, it does not mean the number for initial value (or periods; if involved) changes. They showed me how to solve the problem I was struggling with, they used examples to help me understand certain aspects on the real world problem, and they answered my questions exactly in a way I understood.
