I'm a lead software engineer at a top Silicon Valley startup. I've worked full-stack on market-leading products. I published my first book to teach beginners programming principles; it's used as a supplementary text at my alma mater and read by thousands of learners across the world.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love teaching others new concepts by breaking down complexity into understandable bits. My approach to teaching and tutoring is to meet learners where they are. The more I help others learn, the more I solidify my own understanding, which is a positive feedback loop.

When I stated that I did not understand how to do the steps. He sent a tutorial to show me but again if I do not understand the file. He did not guide me into how it works. He wanted me to think to hard about it, instead of guiding into the lesson plan. What is a tutor if you are not guided to do the work. I needed clarification to do the work. Even if you read it for yourself and still do not know or understand it. YOU NEED GUILDING THROUGHT IT even if you need to do it for me. Learning this for the first time means exactly to help do the work together through guiding a individual. Not a good tutor.

I really appreciate that he gently guided me and asked why or why not questions, as well as not directly giving me the answers. I also liked that we did a walkthrough of trial and error to cement the why or why not portion of our session.
